The Western Region of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., efforts to annually offer current college brothers, with strong academic performance, notable leadership activities and high potential an award in the amount of $500 to support their academic endeavors. This award shall be a function of the Western Region Purpose Foundation. It is desired that each year, at least (1) award winner hail from each of the Western Region’s 5 Districts.

  • Applications can be submitted via hardcopy or online (preferred method) and must be fully completed.
  • If applications are submitted via hardcopy, applications must be typed.
  • Applications must be postmarked prior to that year’s Western Region Convention each year
  • Applications must be accompanied by an official transcript (sent separately)
  • Applications must be accompanied by:
    • ——— (3) letters of recommendation
    • ——— a current resume
    • ——— a professional headshot (2″ x 2″)
    • ——— a listing of involvement with extracurricular activities
    • ——— a 250 word essay response to the prompt provided

For all hardcopy submissions: all supporting documents should be sent as unbound, loose pages to: Brother Russell E. Flye, 6211 Devon Ct., Pasco, WA 99301. When submitting, please provide one (1) additional copy of the application packet.

For all online submissions: all supporting documents (with exception to transcripts) should be uploaded via the application portal.

All applicants must currently be a full-time, degree seeking undergraduate student having a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4 point-scale (or equivalent). All applications must be submitted or postmarked by March 4th in the award year.
